Erik Donley and Imke Reimers claimed their first championship together at the 24th Annual Pine Tree Apple Tennis Classic at Life Time Fitness - White Bear Lake. Donley and Reimers defeated defending champions Mickey Maule and Christine Sheldon in the finals 6-2, 6-3.

Max Schaper and Dan Thompson Win Father/Son Titles

Current Gophers women’s volunteer assistant coach Imke Reimers won the women's singles title at the 14th Annual Boston Scientific Aquatennial Plaza Tennis Classic at One Financial Plaza (2nd Ave. and 5th Street) in downtown Minneapolis Friday. Reimers, who played #1 at Nebraska and was the #1 seed in this tournament, defeated #2 seeded Amy Jamieson 6-2, 6-1 in the finals.

Nic Edlefsen Wins Men's Singles; Doubles Champions Also Crowned At Aquatennial Tournament

Former Gopher Nic Edlefsen won the men's singles title at the 14th Annual Boston Scientific Aquatennial Plaza Tennis Classic at One Financial Plaza (2nd Ave. and 5th Street) in downtown Minneapolis Thursday. Edlefsen defeated 2007 champion Tony Larson 7-6, 6-2 in a match that lasted over two hours with extraordinary shot making and court coverage by both players.

Mark April 9-11, 2010, on your calendar and plan on attending the Tennis Festival of the North. The weekend event will celebrate the game of tennis with both on- and off-court sessions, a vendor fair and a tennis exhibition. The Festival will have a lot of everything for people of all ages and ability levels. This will take the place of the USTA Northern Community Tennis Workshop that is traditionally held in November. Fischer, Hunter and Paluch Inducted Into South Dakota Hall of Fame

Tennis history from Sioux Falls, Watertown and Rapid City was honored with the inductions of Fred Fischer, Phyllis Hunter and Daryl Paluch into the 2009 South Dakota Hall of Fame on July 29, 2009, at McKennan Park in Sioux Falls.

Alex Clayton and Whitney Paluch Win SD Open Titles

Alex Clayton and Whitney Paluch won the singles titles at the 2009 South Dakota Open in Sioux Falls. It was the third consecutive victory for Clayton, and Paluch’s first win at the tournament. Clayton, who will be a junior at Stanford, defeated Tony Larson of Alexandria, Minn., while Paluch beat Kylie Huether of Sioux Falls in the finals.
