Do you know what your USTA membership does for you? Most people do not.
USTA Northern, a not-for profit group, is one of 17 regional offices of the USTA. USTA Northern was founded on January 9, 1961, as the Northwestern Tennis Association, and serves Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Northwestern Wisconsin. USTA Northern is responsible for player rankings, tournament sanctions and schedules, rules, sportsmanship standards, junior development programs, community tennis support, adult tennis leagues and tennis growth in the Section.

Did you know?
* The 60 percent of your $40 membership fee goes to USTA National Member Benefits and Services, while the other 40 percent goes towards USTA Northern programs?
* Of the 40 percent earmarked for USTA Northern, 24 percent goes to adult competitive (USTA League Tennis and tournaments); 26 percent goes to community tennis and grants and scholarships; 12 percent goes to marketing and communications and 9 percent goes to special events. The other 29 percent goes to a number of other Section initiatives.
* Over 55 percent of a $18 junior membership goes towards the USTA Northern as 23 percent is designated to junior competitive and high performance; 42 percent goes to community tennis and grants and scholarships (the grassroots programming of getting tennis racquets in the hands of people for the first time) and 16 percent goes to marketing, communications and special events.
