USTA Northern is seeking applications from volunteers for its Board of Directors, Councils, Committees and Board Development Committee for 2009-10. Applications must be submitted to the USTA Northern Board Development Committee for all Board of Directors and Board Development Committee positions by July 1, 2008. Council and Committee member applications are due by October 1, 2008. Terms for the Board of Directors, Councils and Committees are two years, while Board Development Committee members serve four-year terms. May is Tennis Month and USTA Northern is working with a number of different communities to celebrate the start of a great summer with 37 Tennis Block Parties scheduled around the Section. Tennis Block Parties allow people of all ages and abilities to participate in free tennis interactive games, while receiving instruction from local pros.

Come join us at Courts Plus for a kickoff party on Saturday, May 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There will be on-court drills from 9:00-11:00 a.m., followed by an hour of Cardio Tennis. FREE food and drink will also be served, courtesy of USTA Northern and Juano's.
Five Super Senior teams competed 2008 Super Senior National Championships April 25-30 at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala. The Super Senior Tournament requires that all participants be 60 or older.
The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) is pleased to announce the second year of a grassroots national initiative called the Olympic Opportunity Fund. The Olympic Opportunity Fund offers three programs this year, and we encourage you to apply for the program that best matches our grant objectives. Please read through the materials provided closely.
