Want To Be A Tennis Official? Training February 18-19

USTA Northern will be holding its annual USTA Officials School on February 18 and 19 at the Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center in St. Paul, Minn. February 18 is for officials with 3 years of experience and will cover the USTA School, Referee School and ITA School. February 19 is for people who are new to officiating.

 

USTA Officials School 3 Years of Experience

This certification school is intended for tennis officials with 3 or more years of experience and will be held at Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center, located next to the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport. Call (612) 252-8367 for directions. The cost is $25 for the entire day with lunch and breaks included.

Each test must be completed before the school and brought to the class.

Saturday, February 18, 2012 (Officials are encouraged to attend the entire day.)

8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon - USTA School (3 years of experience)

12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. - (Lunch Provided)

1:00 – 3:15 p.m. - Referee School

3:15 – 5:30 p.m. - ITA School*

* Referee and ITA officials must attend the USTA school

 

USTA Officials School 0-3 Years of Experience

(Anyone interested in becoming a tennis official or interested in learning more about the rules of tennis should attend the class.)

This certification school is intended for new and beginning tennis officials with 0-3 years of experience and will be held at Fred Wells Tennis & Education Center, located next to the Minneapolis St. Paul airport. Call (612) 252-8367 for directions. The cost is $25 for the entire day with lunch and breaks included.

Brand new, first time officials should complete the Provisional Test and Referee Test. More experienced officials should complete the standard Umpire and ITA tests.

Sunday, February 19, 2012 (New officials are encouraged to attend the entire day.)

9 am – 1:15 p.m. - USTA school (0-3 years of experience only)

1:15pm - 1:45 p.m. – Lunch

1:45pm - 4:00 p.m. - ITA School*(ITA Officials must attend the USTA School)
